The color production goes on-here's a quick update:
A great, intense orange red clay found at a construction site. I collected a few jars...
The silt separated, the color shifted. Less red, and much more orange.
Now dry, I ground the pigment.
And the final color mixed with oil:

My Honors art class is watching with interest as you create and gather material for your pigments. This is a new angle for them to consider.
